Many Options for Aerial Photography
Once you've decided the type of aerial photo you
need, then you need to get a bit more specific as to
what that aerial photo should do for you, the
resolution needed, the use - whether it be for web
use or print, and if print, how big?  Wall size or a 16
x 20 framed print?  For instance, a wall sized print
will require special cameras to capture the view, or
in the case of a vertical image - we will need to
shoot multiple images to stitch together to create a
final image ready for printing.
1,000 ft Oblique View (Zoom)
2,000 ft Oblique View (Medium)
2,000 ft Oblique View (Wide to
Horizon)
8,000 ft Oblique View (7 miles
foreground to background, 3
miles left to right)
12,000 ft Oblique View (9 miles
foreground to background, 5
miles left to right)
5,000 ft Vertical, 5 flight lines, 12
images per flight line for a total
of 60 images, stitched to create
final product with incredible
resolution. We can make a wall
size print with this type of
photography.
Note: A single oblique image
from 12,000 ft covers a much
wider area than if shot vertically.
If I point the camera straight
down from 12,000 ft, I can only
capture 3 miles by 2 miles,
unless we fly multiple flight lines
and shoot multiple images per
flight line. This can be done, but
the price is substantially higher.
